Tim, Have you looked into external FireWire drives? You can get 300 GB in a single drive and its reliability ought to be better than two smaller drives Raided to make a 500 GB. I assume that they are not mirrored at the same time. Actually, I use two of them as backups, separated physically far away from each other in different buildings on the local network. That way, the chances of theft and fire (and hurricanes in Florida) are less. There is also a big price difference; a typical external 300 GB drive is about US$300.
