I personally would stick with the 2100. Statistically from our records it seems much more reliable than the 1290, and the new one will not be supported certainly by ourselves & probably not by Lyson either for a good few months following it's launch here - whenever that may be! Esp. as it doesn't feature anywhere on Epson's site yet in Japan.
