Yes, Adobe need both praise and criticism for their EXIF tools :-)
It's nice to have some additional features, but a PITA that they've provided
no way of removing this stuff prior to supplying the final images to the
client.
Brian's script is a javascript version of Tina's copy & paste routine. Both
will become difficult if you have to do this on more than a handful of
images.
If you use OS X and don't have a problem with the command line, you could
use tiffutil to copy the images:
$ tiffutil -none /path/to/image -out /path/to/image2
As hosing the EXIF data is one of its many features ;-)
