I am genuinely pleased you have learnt a lot from this list but your post neatly illustrates one of the main issues being discussed here. There are obviously both amateurs and professionals on this list. The name of the list is ProDig - what does that imply? You say you shall be deprived from mastering your hobby - that's unfortunate, but presumably you will continue to pay the mortgage and put food on the table? Is this list the only place you use to that end? For the professionals on this list who have seen their workload cut (for reasons already discussed) and are concerned with making a living, your comments could be seen as rather insensitive at best.
