It is basically a thin LCD panel that is mounted in what looks like a regular picture frame and it can be hung on the wall or free standing. The "no computer" is not exactly correct; it has a very small built-in self contained microprocessor. The only thing it does is to read typically a CF card and then cycle through the pictures as a slide show. There are also more advanced versions that can connect through a LAN or via a modem and phone lines so the pictures can be remotely changed.
