Hi All
I'm convinced that 16 bit files use 32,769 levels, but some of my friends
will need some definite proof  before they agree (a bit set in their
ways.....).
Can someone direct me to a reference - a web page - which states it
categorically and authoritively? I doubt if they will believe it even then,
but it will be worth a try!
