Dear fellows
This thread has had it's cycle and there seems to be nothing new added to a discussion that takes up bandwith with no major helpful additions involved.
ProDig can not be allowed to become a discussion list about how should ProDig be handled. I hope this is understandable to all and all further discussions about issues related to the list be addressed directly to List Mums and List Owner.
Each and every list member is cordially invited to submit any kind of comments, criticims and proposals to make ProDig a better place for all, but for the rest of the week, let's keep the list focused on Digital Issues.
Those of you fellows, who are setting up new lists in related digital areas, we wish you all good luck in your endeavours and hope we can complement each other with fine content and great discussions.
Thanks for your cooperation

Hi Ellie I'm sorry you feel that you were a target of public criticism....I certainly stated quite clearly that this was not a personal issue. I do appreciate that you and the other listmums are following a policy laid down by Ed. What I was doing was drawing attention to the way I believe that policy has stifled the lists development and even its 'character' to the point where many appear to have voted with their feet.
Ed's recent 'NOTICE' perpetuates the problem IMHO by again asking that any response be 'off-list' as if it is somehow wrong for us as members of the list to be permitted freedom of speech and open discussion. The reality is that the subscribers 'are' the list and the minute they decide to go elsewhere we are all the poorer for it.
There appears also to have been a major issue with many of the 'pros'
that the presence of so called 'amateurs' on the list was undesirable.
I personally carry out much of my work with the enthusiast sector and
can assure you that they rarely , if ever, represent a threat to
professional photographers. They are , however, as hungry to learn about
the new technology as anyone and I see no reason why a few of them
'lurking and learning' should need to seen as so undesirable.
I have had it in mind for some time to set up a discussion list
specifically for enthusiasts (amateur or professional!) and have now
done so. Any enthusiasts reading this can email me off list for details.

Dear Tony, (and others who have criticised my handling of this thread), As I have now been the target of public criticism on this list, I feel that I should defend myself:
As listmum I only follow the guidelines that are set out for me.
