No refutation on this POV? Things are kind of quiet out there?

I thought I heard and read where the actions we were taking would
embolden the terrorists and the insurgents, but this document from AQ in
Iraq seems to be saying very clearly that recruitment is down, the Iraqi
National Guard is actually able to 'shield' the Americans (does this
mean the Iraqi National Guard is actually becoming effective?) ...

Also, the rank and file Iraqi citizen is providing G2 against terrorist
and insurgent operations/locations ...

So what's up?

For a long time all the information coming out of Iraq about the
violence going on was all about Zarqawi and Al Qaeda. This
was from the Bush Administration and the Pentagon because
it fit the so call "war on terrorism" refrain they've been pushing
since all the other reasons for going in turned out to be bogus.

Finally, sometime last year, the military folks in Iraq admitted
that outside terrorists, AKA Zarqawi, AL Qaeda and other
"terrorists" groups made up only about 5% to 15% of the
violent attacks.

That let us know that what's really going on is an internal civil
war between the Shiites and the Sunnis primarily with additional
infighting between different Shiite militia groups amongst themselves
for eventual power.

Time will tell how much damage has been done to the "terrorists"
in Iraq and wheather they are able to re-constitute themselves and
live to fight on.

Time will tell wheather we can stop the Iraqi civil war enough
to get out of there with so called "honor".

There are some irrefutable facts however, (1) We, (the U.S.)
cannot afford the cost of this excursion in Iraq and we certainly
cannot afford to keep funding it for much longer. We will reap
the economic reality of the already sunk cost sooner rather than
later. (2) nobody in this country truly gives a shit about the Iraqi
people and this holier than thou rhetoric of how "we're bringing
freedom and democracy to Iraq" bullshit needs to stop.
