Defense rarely gets the recognition it deserves; goals are what
people like. I would probably have gone with Zidane before the game,
but I'm not too sure that the way he exited wouldn't have changed
enough minds to give it to someone else. I think it was a chance to
recognize a legend who really stepped up his game and inspired his
team to within a kick of the championship.
