For him, yes, but sometimes it takes something like this to get through to the rest of the world, especially the young players. I see way too much stuff like this in games where players don't get sent off, because the punishment for a red card is severe ($50 fine, three- game suspension for a first; $300 fine and 6-game suspension for a second in our league), so the refs simply "talk" to the players. Seeing someone like Zidane get punished in front of a billion people, and be denied the chance to stand with his teammates and receive his medal, and then get reamed by the press for the stupidity of his act might just get through to some of the younger players and the refs who work their games that crap like that has no place in soccer.
