I wrote this message a couple of days ago, but sent it to
"profoxtech", which means it disappears into thin ether-net.
Partly prompted by Stephen's quip about Mac & Linux users, here's
what I can remember of it.

I know it's a heinous thought, probably particularly in this group,
but what's a good non-Windoze alternative to VFP?

Along the lines of "if you're not part of the solution you're part of
the problem", I'm thinking more & more about ditching Windoze and
moving to (probably) Linux. The main, almost only, thing keeping me
in the clutches of the Evil Empire is VFP, which I love dearly, of
course.

However, the need to write web-aware stuff has brought me to php and
MySQL, which is pretty damn good. Add an Apache server on an
intranet and I might even construct something to keep my current
clients happy, and maybe even generate more new ones.

Is that a good alternative? If not, or if there's better, what?
Ed says Dabo aint it. Anyone thinking along similar lines?

Regards
Mark
