At our age, it's not code we're selling so much as the wisdom when to
code and when not to code.

Most of us by now have frameworks that we've either invented or
acquired, so when we spot opportunities to deploy solutions based on
these frameworks, all the more power to us. But for the most part we're
entering the age of packaged solutions from (worldwide) big money
powerhouses that we can't compete with on a LOC basis. Fine, we just
have to adjust a little.
