Not futile, but hazardous. Depending on not-yet-released features for
your applications can be highly risky. Friends who designed an app
based on BizTalk Beta One got creamed when Beta Two was, for all
practical purposes, a different server. However, if you're depending
on future versions of Windows to host your applications, you need to
find out if your apps are going to have problems with the new
features.

If your clients have cash to throw away on eye candy and risk, by all means let 
them.  And they can pay you to upgrade their software as needed.

My clients are forced to buy new machines as their older ones age and
fail. They can only purchase the OSes that are available for sale.
That's one of the reasons I'm shopping for an OS with better long-term
support.

You didn't promise them it would work on all future versions of Windows, did 
you?
