If Muslims are really serious about being seen as a faith of peace and

They prove the words of the Pope and the 14th century emperor he
quoted 100% correct by their deeds.
At the merest sniff of criticism, bang on cue, they burn
effigies, burn buildings and have even resorted to murder (a nun was
killed in one recent attack). I realise these are probably a
minority,
but they can be seen across the world in their thousands at these
violent demonstrations.
To the rest of the civilised world, they are perceived as a horde of
intolerant savages.
...if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...
A phrase that I think they would do well to adhere
to is this - No-one has the right NOT to be offended. In any
democratic
society, free speech is a fundamental right. A such, there are
bound to
be things that are said or done that will offend you.
Well this is kind of the point, isn't it? They spit on the very
notion of free societies, and resent everything they stand for,
especially tolerance.
And they are populating Europe at an alarming rate.
Is that the smell of coffee I detect?
I am normally very mild mannered and tolerant, but my patience is
stretching to breaking point with the attitude of a seemingly
increasing
number of Muslims.
Uhm, they haven't changed one iota since the 14th century. Also kind
of the point. The only thing "increasing" are their raw numbers,
particularly in Europe.
Though in his human weakness, Pope Benedict will likely be forced to
apologize, there can be no doubt but that he uttered a truth.
As the queen in Alice in Wunderland was fond of saying: "Off with his
head!"

As usual you are changing the point. What has the past history of the
catholic church got to do with the Popes comments.
ROFL....if i do remember clearly he was himself referring to past
Islam
history ? In the end it was a thinly disguised attack on the Islam.
If the leader of the catholic church really believes in putting oil on
the fire...we're not home yet...
