I find the internet has ample material.  Just google 'python tutorial'
and there are plenty of online tutorials.  I am currently using a couple
of such tutorials to learn C# (and having a quick play with Ruby).

        I've also had two O'Reilly books recommended: _Learning Python_
and _Programming Python_. I haven't read either, as I tend not to be a
book learner, but since this question comes up a lot on the Python
lists, I know that others have benefitted from these.
