I have a client that works very closely with MS's enterprise sales force. >From what I can glean, the MS sales culture is generally very desktop/retail oriented (read: MS Office). Selling to the enterprise, of course, is a very different proposition, but the sales culture is very slow to change, apparently. English Query and the server products are really more of an enterprise-sell, and they're really not that good at it.
What's really eye-opening is the lack of Speech Server marketing. This is a truly remarkable product, the result of a 10-year $1B effort. An now they're going to bury it into the upcoming Communications Foundation Server or something. I think this is a big mistake. They've become too unfocused as a company. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of MB Software Solutions Sent: Wednesday, September 20, 2006 9:25 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Creating VFP reports by end-users Dave Bernard wrote: >Dave- > >The technology has improved in leaps and bounds. Why wouldn't M$ want to promote it more? Surely they don't lose money on it like they do with VFP? -- Michael J.
