BTW: While both my online backup sites are run by separate companies in
seperate locations, both locations (as it turns out) are relatively near
each other in California. It's on my to do list to find an another
online backup service (or hosting firm) whose physical location is in
another part of the country or world and preferably away from a major
earthquake fault or active volcanos.

And on different parts of the Internet backbone, too, right? :)

There was an article recently (where? mebbe bizweek or fortune?) about the upcoming electrical crunches, and how data centers are looking at electricity as a significant component of their cost structure.

So they're trying to keep the data center in a location where the electricity is cheap (and the women are too.) Oh, sorry, that last bit just sort of slipped out.

Eastern Washington state was one place mentioned more than once.

So it looks like a lot of folks are starting to look there for building or expanding data centers.

Unfortunately, that one fact filled up core here so I can't suggest other locations to look for.
