A true geek! You are doing quite a bit (no pun intended). I feel that
backing up to the server using zip files so that I can access files from any
date (assuming they changed) and then copying the files to CD or DVD and
storing them offsite is sufficient. I do have a client that has started
using backup over the Internet, but can't think of the product name at the
moment.

Russell,

I've been shifting away CD and DVD backups except for making snapshots
at critical project milestones and project closeout. Even with this
practice I think I have enough archive CD's to build a house!

Instead of CD/DVD's I've been backing up to 2 online sites:

1. a backup folder on our hosted website (LunarPages.com)

2. StrongSpace.com, a secure only backup service ($9 for 4G space)

And a set of rotating external USB drives (200G+).

When I travel and am not connected to the internet or my external USB
drives, I backup to a pair of rotating memory sticks I wear around my
neck.

Parnoid in NJ<g>,

Malcolm

BTW: While both my online backup sites are run by separate companies in
seperate locations, both locations (as it turns out) are relatively near
each other in California. It's on my to do list to find an another
online backup service (or hosting firm) whose physical location is in
another part of the country or world and preferably away from a major
earthquake fault or active volcanos.
