Andy,

Pro's:
1. Looks good expecially when you use the VFP9 Anchor facility with
resizeable forms
3. Once you have done one application this way it is like shelling peas -
repeating the format is easy.
4. Looks more Professional - just don't use formsets (you wouldn't anyway
would you?)

Cons:
1. Initially difficult at first to understand/sort out removing the VFP main
screen (use config.fpw)
2. Debuffing becomes more difficult as either the main App window or the
main VFP window often disappear from view into the background.
3. Dealing with Modal forms needs to be addressed if the modal form throws
itself behind the app form whilst focus is still set on the main form or the
"always on top" property is set on the main form.
4. Using the default print preview will result in the main preview screen
being contained in the top window. You need to use a user created separate
detached window to host the preview.
5. Toolbars - act in a non standard way
6. Sometimes when the application crashes the main VFP window app is left in
memory. You need to be careful with the "on shutdown" settings.

Apart from that it's easy.

We get posts from time to time from people who always use top-level forms.
What are the pro's and con's?
