Actually, hold that 1st thought. 

The problem does not occur if the debugger was never opened in the session. 

No code has been changed except I removed a SET STEP ON I had.

Can you see any objects in the debugger?  Sometimes things don't release 
correctly.

As an alternative to Eds solution press in the power button on your 
system... now hold that pose.
