The debugger can get a little screwy with read events and I have found
the odd problem with it stopping execution for no apparent reason plus
it has a high memory/performance overhead. Perhaps it is hanging when
it is shutting down and holding something else open and as it isn't
closing neither will anything else? (pure guess)
