Hi Everybody,

Families have £10 less a week to spend than a year ago in a devastating 
squeeze on household finances, according to a report by the Bank of England.

The central bank’s Quarterly Bulletin said ‘available’ income – what is 
left after paying tax, housing costs, loan payments and utility bills – 
has fallen by £46 a month in the last year.

That means the spending power of the average family has fallen by £552 
in the last 12 months – leaving Britain on the brink of a double-dip 
recession.
