Most of the time my laptop is on my desk. A few times a year, I travel.

What are the advantages of continuing keeping it on the charger?

What are the advantages of running the battery down and only then recharging?

I keep asking these questions, too. The advice that seems to be working best for me is: only charge up the battery when you are going to use it. If it is sitting on your desktop - running - just being another computer, take the battery out. The only trouble is when you are going to need it charged up unexpectedly tomorrow.
