No choice. Digital or nothing. The analogue channels are just a
hangover from times past. Probably disappear one day.
Digital is actually noticeably lower quality than analogue. Things
with fast moving action or lots of panning, like football (soccer)
have blocky mpeg artifacts. But maybe it's just me, I see them
occasionally on DVDs.
I agree - much as I like the compactness (and styling) of LCD/TFT
screens, I prefer my analogue CRT (Iiyama Vision Master Pro 21 - must
be 10 years old now). When I do want to change resolution (I normally
use 1600x1200) I find that LCDs are horrible at anything other than
their "native" resolution.
