I use drop box all the time.  AFAIC it overwrites the entire file.  One 
thing I do notice is that you have to make sure the drop box is 
synchronized with your local files before using them.  For example, I 
send an exe to the drop box and it shows there right away.  Then I have 
someone download it to their machine.  It is very possible that it is 
not completed uploading before the other person downloads it and you can 
imagine the results.  So I make sure I wait until both transfers are 
complete and I don't have any problems.
