And since no one has mentioned it yet, if the printer environment is saved in 
the FRX, this can result in the reported behavior when the stored printer 
reference does not exist.

I have seen this on terminal services.  The default printer on the PC is set to 
a printer that is not in getprinter().  They either select a different printer 
or have support restore their printers.
