What did the Filezilla log show? If you set it to DEBUG level, it will report a huge amount of communications detail.

Not sure how to go about checking if IP blocking is happening on server or not - we don't control the box though it resides on site. Can't for the life of me think of a reason someone would WANT to do that, but... not sure it's worth getting on the horn to corp overseers to check into it...
