Look just under the Picture of Abraham Lincoln, and click on the
caption, "New York Times Endorsements Through the Ages". This link will
take you all the way back to the NY Times first endorsement of Abraham
Lincoln in 1860.
The Republican party of Abraham Lincoln is the Democratic party of
today, ( eg the abolism of slavery was a very progressive idea in
Lincoln's day).
