Subject: When did MS start requiring logins to MSDN?

So, I thought I'd help out a little more on the thread about generating
screens from PRGs and look up the information located in the appendices of
the FoxPro manuals for structures of the SCX files.

I googled "foxpro structure form SCX" and the first link was
msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa975386(v=vs.71).aspx. When I tried to
get to that page, I was greeted with an MSDN login page that said, "Because
you're accessing sensitive info, you need to verify your password."

Hello? What part of a screen table structure is sensitive information, on a
product MS doesn't even support any more?

FYI, I did NOT login, just tried the search in another browser and got the
same page, this time without the login. As best I can figure, MS recognized
that I used that browser to purchase an Action Pack, so it likely had a
cookie, and they wanted my login to track my usage of their site. Why is it
that MS feels they can inconvenience their paying customers more is one of
those mysteries of MS...

Re: the original question: the above page in turn links to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa975387%28v=vs.71%29.aspx, which
points out that FoxPro owners have the FILESPEC directory on their machine,
and that is a rich source of more information on the subject.
