I'm usually really careful the first few times. Once I get to the hundred time, I tend to get sloppy. So, it's a tradeoff. If I can automate it, I can avoid whole classes of mistakes. Of course, it lets me make the other classes of mistakes faster and affect more files :)

I have the latter biting me a bit. I solved certain problems about 16 years ago and really did not write it up as well as I should have.
