I think they are becoming more regionalized in general, but you have to realize 
you
guys are talking about a dwindling language so you can't note FoxPro 
conferences and
extrapolate to tech conferences in general.

FoxPro got on the boat with COBAL, Gandalf, and the remaining elves and sailed 
on,
leaving Middle Earth in the hands of the next generation who are young, use 
Ruby or
Python and NoSQL as a rule, and tend to participate in local user groups and 
attend
conferences fiendishly.

Personally, I can only do one conference a year at the most, and I've chosen 
PyCon.
If I were still basing my bread and butter around FoxPro, OR if I had more time 
and
available funds to attend every conference, I would definitely participate in
Southwest Fox.

I almost didn't hit send, because I'm not sure this contributes anything to the
discussion.
