The renewal price is typically half of the new price. So, if you need
the licenses that add up to 550 euros, then the renewal will typically
be 225 euros.
Xojo has a rapid release model, where (most years) they release 4 times
a year. This puts the decision on your shoulders on when to upgrade.
Some developers keep current, others hang back and wait for a 'must
have' feature to come along before they test and upgrade.
