Hi Folks,

After having a very frustrating experience with a recent update to our network anti-virus system, I have the following question for those of you with experience operating in organizational network environments:

What is the typical connection protocol used for POP/SMTP email?

SSL?
TLS?
Kerberos?
Something else?

I realize that a lot of places use IMAP or MAPI for email. BUT, for places that use POP/SMTP, do people still frequently set up the accounts without any of those protocols?

Thanks.
