Oh. I can return it. I did it with a WOL program which is part of
pcAnywhere. Unfortunately the WOL program doesn't always pop up when a
remote session is started making it difficult to edit the calling
parameters.

Is anyone using pcAnywhere?
I would like to know if the remote PC can shut down the host PC? Also
if it can put the host PC into Standby or Hibernate mode?
The only option on the remote PC menu is a "Restart Host" command. I
cannot find any other option.
Are there any suggestions for other remote control software that does
all the things that pcAnywhere does? I know logmein can do it but the
monthly fees for the Pro version are too high for the few times I would
use it.

If you shutdown or hibernate a computer you would not be able to return to
it remotely.
See the help on the shutdown command in the Windows command prompt.
