Yesterday I added a profile so I could access a program which was
profile specific. When I added it, Windows 8 wants you to add an email
address so it can do it's magic of saving everything (except what you
need) to Sky Drive. Well a Windows Live account is not the same as a
local account. So I removed the Windows Live account (saving the files)
and added a local account. Then I transferred all of the profile files
from the former to the later and all is well, including accessing my
server. Even though my server had "Jeff Johnson" as a user, the Windows
Live user was "[email protected]" and therefore had no access. Also, you
can not put an "@" in a user name on the server.
To answer the question, "Where do you want to go to today?" the answer
would be, "The nearest bar."

Good old Windows 8 was working fine for the couple of weeks I had it.
I keep a lot of files on a file server. Today when I fired up my
machine it no longer allowed me to access my server. I checked
permissions on the server. I can access the server from all of my
other computers. No matter what I try, it says I do not have
permissions to access the server. It won't even let me enter a user
ID or password.
What's up with this?!?
