Confirmed that it's Cinnamon. I tried to restore all settings to
defaults but no better. Still zoomed crazily. Moving the mouse
around the screen scrolls it like the screen is just a piece of the
total display.
Pressing Detect Displays shows nothing. Also, it doesn't see the 2nd
monitor.
Passed on that one. Gave it back to the dude and said 'sorry, can't
help ya.' Charity time is limited; back to the real paying work.
