A dead workstation has resulted in me working on Windows 8.1 this week. Any advice on how to configure it to be a bit less annoying?
I've found the Navigation option in the task bar to set the desktop as the default GUI, but I do miss the Start Menu. I know someone pointed out a replacement shell, but I wasn't able to find it in the ProFox archives. A web search yields too many results, and sketchy sites I'm not inclined to install software from. Thanks to good backups, I've got VFP and Inno and a few key utilities running, but I'd like to get the OS out of the way as much as possible.
