Thanks, Adam - - Background and other stuff:
-- I have been running this configuration for 4 years, Parallels with W7, WXP and Ubuntu VMs. -- Just recently this issue cropped up a week ago or so. -- Searching in Parallels' KB, I did reinstall Parallels. I also followed their instructions in a KB article about "one VM suckung the life (and hope) out of your computer." It didn't help. -- Each time the computer has locked up, I have to run the disk utility Verify/Repair to get it to boot again. Now, I have done that operation 592,544 times (approximately). -- Because of that, my first thought was that the HD was toast. So, I bought me a brand-spankin' new hybrid SS/Magnetic disk. Thanks for the ideas! I have lose a week of client work, so I really appreciate ideas and help, even the WAGs.
