So I resurrected my Amiga 4000 this year as a bit of a project. I replaced the PSU fan (loud!) and installed a CF<>IDE adapter (cheap - about $15). She's now quieter than my PC (A4000 IDE is notoriously bad). There's a few things remaining: - Disk performance (I have SCSI). CF<>SCSI is $$$ - Better networking - using serial PPP to my Windows PC now. - I'm struggling with 16/24 bit graphics modes as my monitor goes out of sync. Can you believe I learned Linux on this system? There were no distros at the time so I had to learn the hard way! p.s.
