Now I'm Jealous of you Paul - messing around w/Ur old Amiga. But, yeah - I had
an original A1000.

It had the 256KB Ram pack on the front of the machine. I got an Add-on Card in
the machine w/more memory, then also an Add-on HD - which also had space for
Memory modules. I remember I had it up to like 10MB - and it could go to a
total of 16MB(Or - maybe - it was at 6MB - and could go to a total of 10MB).
Its been Years since I played with that machine - then I sold it last summer.
I had a bunch of graphics programs for it - including several 3D Apps. I may
have had other add-ons for it too.

Before selling it - I thought I looked around on EBay and didn't find people
selling it for a lot - so I only got like $300 for it. Which included several
Books and SW.

Oh well...

So I resurrected my Amiga 4000 this year as a bit of a project.

I replaced the PSU fan (loud!) and installed a CF<>IDE adapter (cheap
- about $15).
She's now quieter than my PC (A4000 IDE is notoriously bad).

There's a few things remaining:
- Disk performance (I have SCSI). CF<>SCSI is $$$
- Better networking - using serial PPP to my Windows PC now.
- I'm struggling with 16/24 bit graphics modes as my monitor goes out of sync.

Can you believe I learned Linux on this system?
There were no distros at the time so I had to learn the hard way!

p.s. If you really had an A1000 it's probably worth quite a bit.
