Absolutely. This is a fascinating clash between "updating the software
of ignorant consumers" and "taking control away from folks with
line-of-business applications they depend on." Bundling all the
patches as one was the last step; for years now, MS has been shipping
patches with generic "This addresses an issue in Windows" and making
it really hard to figure out which patches you want to use and which
to skip.

MS has some of the best software testing processes in the software
world, but the increasing complexity of their environment is making it
harder and harder to get it 100% right.
