There is a LOT of oil in africa, so that blows the hell out of your
statement.
I worked in gabon when I was 17, back in 75 or so and they're still going
strong..

There also is a lot of oil in the north sea and other places around the
world.

Anybody that thinks this is only about oil, needs to quit smoking whatever
they're smoking.

As far as mercenaries are concerned there are about 30,000 ~50,000 of those
in Iraq right now.
Something the US gov. probably learned from the French as it keeps the
casualties in the regular army down.
