Yup. I've got an IOGear server for a Lexmark laser, shared by Macs,
Windows and Linux machines on the network. I've got an HP OfficeJet
d145 with the optional JetDirect interface. Each has an IP address.
(Sometimes they need some tweaking to set them up right, but they
usually come with DHCP enabled, grab an IP address, then you use the
web interface to tweak them the way you want.) The HP is 192.168.1.99
and the Lexmark .98. With the Open Source HP OfficeJet and Imaging
software, I can not only print, but scan as well.

Once set up, they Just work.
