Thanks, Andy!  Good tips to file away.  Looks like these folks did do something like that recently.  The QBW file is now only 386 MB.

but the first step seems to be to back-up (!) and then compress the files (Surprise!) - some suggest that speed is the main problem - well you can now get humongous SSD's
