What kinds of work do you do? I seriously don't see any lack at all of work at least in the LA area. Several of the places I was working before are still looking for people even. If all you know is older versions of FoxPro then perhaps it is tough, but if you have been keeping up with internet technologies and also know VFP there does not seem to be any lack at all. I don't think it is too great for a VFP-only programmer with no other skills, but for someone that has two or three things they know how to do I can't see how they'd go hungry around here.
