I would like to think Linux ousting Windows would happen in my lifetime. You see,, that pretty ensures I will live at least another 80 years or so. And if I am in relatively good health all is well.
I like using Linspire Linux on my father's and father-in-law's PCs as they can't really get into any trouble with the sites they visit <g> (some boys never grow up I guess). Even for corporate use it has its place. But, as with VFP, unless there is a resource pool available to the employers that understand how to make Linux sing on desktops like we have elarned how to tweak Windows to make it runn well, there is going to be a real hesitancy for mainstream USA to move to anything other than Windows - IMHO. Shame, I prefer to see competition and all the goodies it brings with it.
