Hi all I am stuck with a particular problem and am hoping that somebody may be able to give me some ideas becuase I really don't know where to start looking.
My desktop machine is connected to my WRT54G router via cable and my laptop is connected via its wireless adpater. The router is connected to my NTL cable modem also by (ethernet) cable. The two machines can see one another and file/printer sharing is working fine. The desktop can boot to 98, 2K or XP and all systems/programs are working in all three environments. IE and Firefox are both working fine in all four environments (XP on the laptop, and 98, 2K and XP on the desktop). Opera (9.02) works in all three OSs on the desktop but I cannot get it to connect to the internet on the laptop. Another program (DriverMagic) also works fine on the desktop but not on the laptop. I have tried disabling the Windows Firewall on the laptop but that makes no difference. So what else can I try/look into on the laptop to get these two programs (Opera and Drivermagic) working ? IE, Firefox and Thunderbird all work fine.
