I have had a similar model for a few months, only mine has a dual core Athlon processor and XP Media center. It rocks - by far the nicest laptop I have ever owned! Your customer should be very happy with it. I did put the final verison of Vista on it when it went up on MSDN. It says "Vista Compatible", but that doesn't mean that it had drivers for everything on the Vista DVD, and since some said "unknown device" I wasn't sure what to look for. But the system ran Vista just fine without them. Having 2GB of RAM certainly helps.
I'm just not a big fan of Vista - after two weeks I restored XP. Do let us know what they think of it. The weekend before the Vista launch I went to Frys and got one of their 'clearance' notebooks or my wife - ones priced to move because it had XP and they needed the room for the Vista machines they were putting out later that week. She's thrilled with her new Compaq and couldn't care less about Vista. Anyone know if I'm going to run into gotchas getting VFP9 app installed on it? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ This e-mail and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
