Yeah, I have wifi DLink cams inside my house, but I'm going to place a cctv cam on the outside and capture ALL the street traffic. I want to know who comes into the hood, and there's only one way in and one way out (using roads that is).

I have considered it, but being in such a nice neighborhood I just have not felt it necessary. Then again... I did pick up a nice 16 channel Digital Video Recording PC a while back, from a client who "upgraded" to a newer unit (he was going to toss the perfectly good DVR out, amazing...). I need the cameras, which can run $500 each for decent units (coaxial feed, not USB or WiFi). So, each time I think I ought to do something I find other toys to get with the $500 bundles of cash (more Servers, more SCSI HDD units, more USB external HDD units).
