Dongles also sometimes stop working, people claim to 'lose them', etc.
At my day job we use dongles, but we have an internal 'black list' of
dongles that have been reported as stolen, lost, or we simply disabled
for accounting purposes. Our dongles also support storing about 64
words of data in addition to the serial number and our unique key
codes, so we can store some important information right in the dongle.

I personally like dongles, but they're not good for all software--
vertical market apps like this is probably where they fit best.
